The web site TheVerge has published a video that shows some of the navigation and UI changes in Windows 8 since the developer preview. The video shows the follow changes since the developer preview:
Pull down gesture from the top of the screen down will close a metro app
You can customise the colour of the background and UI
The mouse wheel will scroll the start menu horizontally
Holding the CTRL-and Mouse wheel will zoom out the start screen
This certainly shows that Microsoft are starting to address some of the navigation issues that the Developer preview had using a non-touch device.
Just yesterday Microsoft announced that the Bing search engine for Australia will lose its “beta” tag. Even though that the search engine is still crippled today they added the video background feature. You will need to be using a HTML5 browser to see the video as this feature uses the “Video” tag.
The really smart people at MIT have been able to take the Kinect camera and use it for some really cool video conferencing. This is pretty amazing stuff video (see below) that shows how combining and audio array with camera and depth sensor can get you some pretty amazing affect. Hope this is also a preview of some of the innovation we can expect with the release of theKinect SDK really soon.
Engadget have just released some more exclusive photos and videos of the Courier which is reportedly a new dual screen tablet device that Microsoft is current developing. Apparently this device will be built on Windows Phone 7 OS and run with the Nvidia Tega 2 processor which should surly give it a lot of horse power with good battery life.
The video’s at the bottom do start similar to the original video that Engadget leaked in September but they definitely have an updated UI and more content.

I also noticed how the painting application in the video looks a lot like the Project Gustav painting application recently shown off at TechFest 2010 on the Microsoft campus.
