The Zune pass is now out for anyone in Australian by heading over to http://www.zune.net/ and clicking on the “Get Zune Music Pass” button.
One you have signed up you might the music option is not immediately available in the Zune PC software. If you cannot find this option then try closing and re-opening Zune and you should then be prompted with a “Features have changed” message.
If you then close and re-open the Zune software again you will find that all the music options have now appeared.
If you use the same live ID for you Xbox and Windows Phone you will also have access to the music on those devices. Now to find my favourite Katy Perry songs…
Update: According to @ZuneSupport If you have a Windows Phone you may not be able to access the marketplace until next Wednesday.
Just yesterday Microsoft announced that the Bing search engine for Australia will lose its “beta” tag. Even though that the search engine is still crippled today they added the video background feature. You will need to be using a HTML5 browser to see the video as this feature uses the “Video” tag.
This speech was given before the Australian government shelved the ISP Filtering plan before the election. I used to this he was a bit of a jerk, however as least his views on this matter I think are right on.

The hunt continues…
Just visited the local the Milton OfficeWorks and I asked an assistant if they had any copies of the Windows 7 Family pack for sale. He informed me that they had some copies out the and the back and he would grab me a copy. Well after a few minutes he came back and spoke to the duty manager after which he told me all they had was the display boxes. But then he said that it would be for sale on December 9th. I was able to see a display box for the product which looked fairly similar to the standard Windows 7 box except it was double the width. Obviously the double width box is only a marketing thing as the Windows 7 family pack DVD is identical to the normal version with the only difference being the registration key.
So on Monday Microsoft said previously posted ( Windows 7 Family Pack Limited Pilot now Available in Australia) that the Windows 7 Family Pack will be “available in time for Christmas” but they didn’t specifically mention a date it would be on sale. Well if i had to make a bet then I say that there Microsoft has embargoed the sale for Windows 7 Family Pack until Wednesday December 9th maybe to co-inside with and advertising launch.
I will keep you informed when I spot a copy in the wild…

A work colleague (Chaitanya Gurrapu) has just got his International Amazon Kindle and has unboxed it in the office. My first impression of the device is that the screen is very clear and the device is quite solid. The Kindle and leather bounded case cost about $350 delivered. What is really interesting is that the wireless 3G connectivity that comes with the device has no monthly subscription cost and no download cost as the overhead is already factored into the cost of buying the books online. He has not even had the device un-boxed for more than 30 minutes and he is already download his first book.
If you want one too you can order then from http://www.amazon.com and they will even associate the device with you Amazon account for you so there is no setting up the device out of the box. NICE
