In case you did not already know Microsoft have just publicly released a beta version of the Windows Home Server ‘Vail’ which is the code name of the next Windows Home Server.

One of the greatly enhanced features of ‘Vail’ is the remote access capability of all you media files stored on your home server via the internet by using a silverlight plug-in. I was also delighted to see that the remote access web site will support mobile html version that is viewable on the iPhone.

This is also not the only time Microsoft has supported the iPhone as they also previously announced that silverlight will stream video to the iPhone. You can check out their demo of this at http://www.iis.net/iphone

image Telstra have just reduce the cost and increased the data allowances on their Post-Paid Data Packs. The good thing about these data plans is that you can purchase a new data plan at any time during your billing cycle to avoid having to pay any excess usage fees. As you can see below based on the cents per MB costing, the two sweet spots are either the 500mb or 3gb plans.

If you already have a data pack on your existing Telstra plan then you will need to call them to update your phone plan to take advantage of the new rates.
